Cynical Morning (7-16-2016 RWC)

The orb of daily light inched its way into the mighty sky. Its warming beams were sent to wake them all from their gentle sleep. Not all were welcoming to this warming blanket. One on the far side of the little town of Bermsteed found this morning to be empty.
He did not want to allow the light of day to end his tormented sleep. His tears of grief and self pity had soaked his pillow the night before. He hated the idea that he had to meet the day and the sorrows of the previous day.
His thoughts went to freak accident that caused his beloved wife to die.
"It was the light of day. It was the light of day that causes me misery," he moaned.
She stood next to him in the market. He was board from all the shopping she was doing. He had let his mind to wonder as she browsed. A cracking sound came from above and they looked above and saw a piece of wood coming at them. He was able to get out of its way just in time, but his wife was not so lucky.
"I hate you light!" He yelled as he began to soak his pillow again.

Random Word Challenge
At times it can be fun to see what you can do with a random set of words. So every now and then I will get a few random words and see what I can do with them.
I challenge you to try to make up a little story (100 - 500 words) with the following random words. You can look at what I came up with before you start, but I would encourage you to try your own little story before looking at mine.
Cynical Morning
