Wallet

There you are in my pocket My blessed wallet. So much time We have spent in the climb. To the places we have gone And thing we have done. Money have come and gone In the night or in the sun. One thing is for sure You have more lure. Your sides show our journey Sometimes it is uncanny. Eventually we will have to part As another comes with me for a start. You will have outlived your usefulness Once you have taken on lifelessness. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Little Penguin (13-3)

* Continued * Tim did not want to be around when the Citizen Eaters showed up, but he knew that if he did not have any supplies he would not get very far from the town.  He knew that he would have to give into Rupert's demand of staying until the end of the day. "I guess I will have to stay.  I will need your help to catch up with my family.  Do you know about how far I will have to go to find them?"  Tim inquired to mislead Rupert. "I do not know how far your journey will be or if you will even make it.  The thing that matters right now is that we need to get to the restaurant.  Now, let's get going," Rupert indicated. Rupert's restaurant was not far from the house.  They arrived at their destination within a few minutes of leaving the house.  The restaurant was nothing flashy.  It was a small building that did not look much different than the houses around it.  Inside there were a few tables set up for customers and small kitchen in the back

* Continued * "I will be going out on my own," Tim told Rupert.  "I need to find my own path and not be stuck here in a small town."  Tim knew that the words he said would be taken badly.  He did not want Rupert to try to convince him to stay.  To his surprise Rupert did not show any sign of discomfort to what he had said. "Where will you be going?  Are you going after your family or are you going to try and hide from all this?" asked Rupert.  Rupert was trying not to show his feeling to the young penguin.  He was shocked that Tim had been so rude about the place that he called home, but he realized that Tim had gone through a shock and would probably lash out at those who had not hurt him. Tim was taken back by what Rupert had said.  Did he know what he was planning or was he just taking a wild guess?  Tim replied, "Does it matter where I am going?  I am just not going to stay here." "It does matter.  If you are going after your

Keep it short As you go to the court Of your peers And onlookers. You have so few letters To convince them that you are better Then others they read On the electronic feed. You may surprise The the eyes Or burn Their concern. As long as you write Within their site. You can be seen By those who are keen. If you with in hold Instead of being bold, Then they will not behold Your inner gold. Write what you know Before you grow Out of the knowledge You can't get at college. Write, I tell you Write Write what is bright Or what is right To be within sight. If you don't we will not grow With the words that you sow. Let us grow Please let us grow. ©2014 Brady L.B.

* Continued * The next morning Rupert opened the door and called in, "Time to get up.  We would not want to waste the day now would we?" Tim shifted in the bed and grunted. "Come on now," indicated Rupert. Rupert did not take a step in the room.  Rupert felt a twinge of fear that he might have to enter the room to wake up Tim.  Rupert banged on the wall in an attempt to wake up the sleeping penguin.  The little penguin moved a little more lively then he had done so far. "I have cooked fresh fish for breakfast and I have to go work soon.  You cannot stay in my house while I am gone.  I am sorry for what happened to your family, but I can't trust you yet to be alone in my house," sternly Rupert communicated. "Can I have a few more minutes?" inquired Tim.  He was fully awake after Rupert banged on the wall.  He did not want to get up.  He felt hopelessness throughout his whole body.  He thought that if he got out of bed that they

If You Want

If you want To go and flaunt Think of those Who will not dose. Some will go and some will stay So many are delayed. If you stand out Others may shout. So make sure it is worth The time you spend in someone's girth. If it is they will be glad To know that you are not bad. If you stay silent They will not become violent. They may stand out While you pout. You may learn Or you may burn For that time That you should chime. Times will come and go Just as the wind blows It is up to you How you may come unglued In the end you should do what is right Whether it is in or out of sight. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Silent Love

Sitting so still, I am trying not to be a pill. I hope to see the gaze From the one I want praise. If only I can catch their glance I might have a chance To find that happiness Instead of sadness. I just need to be silent, To make a dent In their ever caring stare Without it I can't bear. Why will they not look I am just a open book. Do they not care How I fair. This is not fair for them not to care. I just need them now So I don't feel like a cow. I am just an animal to them From it I shall stem. If to them that is all that I am Can't I be their lamb. I would come up So I could be like a pup. They could touch me soft So I would not be so aloft. I just want them to care So it can be fair. Why don't they look I am an open book. ©2014 Brady L.B.

* Continued * "I really want to find them, but I really need to think about what you have said before making up my mind," replied Tim. "Thinking about it would be a great idea," Rupert said. "Until you decide let us eat and get some sleep." The cooked fish was delicious and was welcoming to Tim's stomach. After Tim was done eating the fish, Rupert showed him to a room to sleep in. The room had two kid size beds. The room was quite messy and looked like a few kids still lived in the room. The walls were covered with pictures of mystical creatures that filled the fairy tales that his parents told him.  When Tim got into one of the beds, he felt that he was falling into the hands of death.  The shadows of despair engulfed the room and left unnatural shadows in every corner.  He felt uneasy all over and did not know how to change that feeling. After Rupert had left the room, Tim began to ponder on what he was told. Could this be the room of Rupe

Sing

I wish to sing With bling-bling. Would not I be cool At school? I could dance around With the greatest sound. All would look at my song And I would belong. If it did not work I would still be a dork. A dorky singing blork Without a cork At least I would have tried To get tied To something more Than being a bore. To singing Or becoming It matters not As long as I had a shot. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Treasure

As I wonder I begin to ponder, What will the day bring So that I may sing? I look all around And don't hear a sound. I see something glow As I begin to blow. I rush over to collect my treasure. It is too small to measure. The round edges show A brilliant glow. I gather them up In a cup. Will not my mother be proud And praise me with good sounds. When I got home My mother told me to come. So off I went to show What I found to glow. To my surprise She did not give me a prize For the treasure I found On the ground. ©2014 Brady L.B.
Have you ever wonder, "Why is it hard to find something that I am truly good at?"  I ask myself this all the time.  I just can't seem to find something that I am really good at. It could be that I am spending too much time surviving.  Time spent in the pursuit of making money to live off.  What would life be like if we could do what brings us the most joy?  We should pursue what makes up happy in life and find joy in what we have. We have life.  We have the gift of living on this earth and the time to enjoy the experiences it brings.  It is true that there will be times that we feel pain and sorrow.  In other times we will feel happy.  We need to remember these happy times. Writing down our happy times can help us remember them.  It can help us have greater times then in the past.  It will help others have joy in the times that we had. When we read what others have done, we need to remember to not become jealous.  If we become jealous, then we will loose the joy w

Time

The time is far past I knew it could not last. So much that need to be done It is now all gone. I now must go to bed So no more can be said. I wish I could do more So you would not be bored. Alas it has past. How much more can I cast In this string of word To make a sword. For in the past we could see What we wanted to be. Now that time has past Our wants are last. Can we go back To when we were not sacked. The only way to see Is to try and be. Go forth and concur In times of succor. You may find your soul In going after your goal. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Quit

Quit Quit It would be fun to sit. Here a little, There a little. Finding time to enjoy, The heart of a boy. To write down my feelings So all could know my dealings. So others could look through my eyes Into the sky. But alas only few make it, To find the calling in lit. Try I must before I bust. If I have not tried Then I have already died. I may make it Or I may sit. Until I know I should not blow Out the candles of hope As if on dope. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Let it Go

Let it Go It will be so. How can you fight With all your might The things that exist For what you want of bliss. Everything has a price Sometimes it comes when you're nice. But the easiest road Will not abode Your every desire, Most likely you will end up in the mire. You need to fight For what is right. To sit back Might get you sacked. Our freedoms are worth fighting for Even if our leader would rather say four. Everyone can influence the end As long as we do not bend. Fight! For what is right. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Unsure Tower

Here I sit, Not harming one bit. A fly may go along, But I will not break into song. All of a sudden, Squirrels of large burden Jump into stacks And climb onto my back. Oh how I am now Like a cow, A beast of burden All of a sudden. Go Daddy Go I am told so. Where should I go? When you weigh so. They climb higher and higher As if it is so dire. This tower is wobbling As I am crying. Down please down. This is not so sound. I can't hold this so, Get down before I let go. Without a further word, As if pierced by a sword. The tower crumbled down With so many frowns. ©2014 Brady L.B.

* Continued (1) * The next morning Rupert woke-up Tim.  Tim's body felt as if he had gotten no sleep. "How are you feeling?" asked Rupert. "I am feeling fine, it is just that I did not get a lot of sleep last night," replied Tim.  "I have decided that I would like to stay here with you.  It is too dangerous to go after my flock and I would not be able to do anything for them anyways." "I am happy that you have decided to stay here with me.  It has been getting lonely here, by myself," said Rupert.  "With you staying here you will have to help me out in my restaurant." "That will be fine," responded Tim. Tim and Rupert lived the rest of their lives finding joy in working in Rupert's restaurant and in fear of the Citizen Eaters. The End. ©2014 Brady L.B.
