Leafing it up

Image
Have you ever stopped to smell the roses.  Or have you ever stopped to look that the design of a leaf.  They are so simple, yet they contain complexity.  They come in many shapes, sizes, colors, and styles.  Yet for all its beauty we rush by them and ignore the beauty around us. For these reasons we should slow down from our busy day and admire what has been naturally created. How would our lives be different if we spent some time to slow down?  Would we be less stress?  Would we have less problems in our lives? I would say that our lives would be better, if we would find balance in our lives.  One way to find that balance is to slow down to reexamine our priorities.  If we slow down without a plan of what we are going to do, then we might find it boring and then never do it again.  So we need to have a plan. I would suggest the following plan to start with: Find something to admire or watch from nature such as leaves Think about what you have done in the past day, week,

Green smoothy

How it might be That we must see The things before you That we must pursue Finding life in things done Underneath the sun Combining them together From things we gather The end is green As the plants seen That were added for health And not for stealth We hope we grow With nutrition sown In our green drink To prevent the dreary brink ©2014 Brady L.B.

Far Far Away

Here we sit thinking About the great world around us It passes by as we continue blinking Wondering why everyone has to fuss How small we really are When compared to those afar How can we continue on Underneath the sun Why are we here Instead of there When all thing can go wrong Why don't we sing a sad song About the insignificance of our lives That could end by knives Without the love of our wives In these dives Why does anything exist If nothing once existed What enjoy the great dark bliss What caused the bleak void to be resisted The loneliness of nothing Was replaced with massive things What caused the chaos to become order The great worlds to gain border What caused the great nothing to gain lives The type of life to think of what can be And what could be with wives As far as we can see Here we sit thinking As it passes us by as we are blinking. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Life

Have you ever wondered Why life is passing you by You have been doing everything right, without blunder But just cannot get ahead, sigh. You have been following the rules As set by your boss. While everyone else is in the raise pool. While you grow moss. Your friends and family are gaining ground In the world around you While you hardly make a sound. It make you want to sue Then you realize what you have done Why you are left in the dust This simple rule you follow when all else is done. This you must If at first you don't succeed Don't follow the instructions. I have never thought of this before Is this why I am left in the dust Have I been following those sore Leaders that build crust. Have they been keeping me down Have I allowed them to much room That I almost drown To allow them to stand on my shoulders This cannot be This is not so That all that I have learned about me Is the undoing that I must do.

Rain Rain

Rain Rain everywhere Drenching the seeds, bees, and bears How I wonder, how I got here. One day you were gone Then we got some cloud for Rain Rain everywhere Days of drought cause us pain But when we get to much of you then you Drenching the seeds, bees, and bears The longer I travel Through your heavy downpour How I wonder, how I got here. ©2014 Brady L.B.

What a sight Oh how bright You are to night As I bow I wonder how I will go now The songs of your praise Give me raise As I fall into a daze For I love how you look And not in a cook  book As the night comes to an end And you begin your descend I will miss you my friend. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Cloudy Night

I went out side to see a site Nothing was as it should have been The moon was hiding For it was cloudy outside. There were claims That the night would be great For the moon was as large as can be, so I went out side to see a site Looking up into the sky Searching for the light of time I looked and looked, but Nothing was as it should have been I could not see the stars I could not see the sky I could not see the light of the moon The moon was hiding Disappointment raced through me I was not going to see The great site of the night For it was cloudy outside. ©2014 Brady L.B.

The Adventures of an Average Life

Image
©2014 Brady L.B. Every day we get up in the morning to live our lives.  We all go to work, pay our bills, eat the same food, and so forth.  Our days come and go without real excitement and change to the world.  What if we changed all that?  What would happen if we changed everyday tasks into adventures?  Would we be happier?  We life seem more sweet?  Would we be less envious of other peoples Facebook lives?  Would we be able to get more done in a single day or even in the hour?  Would we be able to live our dreams instead fulfilling another's dream?  We should find out.  We should explore the possibility.  We should find our dreams and live. ---- Average Life I am Average.  I get up every morning before the sun get up, to go to my office job in town.  I have done nothing interesting most of my life.  You may ask how can I stand do these things day in and day out.  I am going to tell you how I am able to get through the day.  How I am able to know that I have done g

Bubble

Bringing a show to all that watch Until we reach the surface catch Bursting forth from that phase barrier Beginning to reach for starrier Life that we all seek for Even thou we will never soar ©2014 Brady L.B.

Bubble

As a sit staring at my glass, I wonder to myself what will it look like with a clear soda contained within.  I slowly start poring in the cool bubbly liquid.  The liquid dances as more of it enters the glass container.  At-last the container is filled and the liquid begins to settle.  It becomes clearer and clearer.  It stops with several tinny streams of bubbles rushing for the surface.  These tinny streams of bubbles fascinated me so I look closer.  I watch as the tinny bubbles form on the glass and then lets go of the side.  Another bubble starts to grow in the place of the bother and goes through the same life cycle.  Again and again they grow and let go.  What could be causing them to grow in these few spots?  Is it a micro crack that I can not see?  Or is it that there is a speck of dirt that was not quite washed away?  I will never know for sure, but fascinates me no less. ©2014 Brady L.B.
How would it to be excited about small things in life. Lets travel back in time, to when we were small.  We got excited about getting a little prizes or praises.  When the simplest things brought joy to our little minds.  Think of how happy we were.  How much less stress we had. Now we stress over the little things and are not happy when get big prizes or praises.  What has happened that we have lost the joy of life.  Where has our hope of a brighter tomorrow.  It has been lost in our desire to have what others have, or that we think they have. Why can we not go back to the simpler times?

Another of your needless adventure Regret will be their censure. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Morning Pondering

As I sit here thinking to myself.  What could possess me to get up this early?  Do I really need all the bells and trinkets that I have become accustomed too?  If I were to choose a simpler life would I be happier.  All I am doing now is spending more and more time away from those that I love.  Too what end do I do this.  To get a better TV?  To get approval from those who do not really know me?  To get faster internet, so I can see more of things that don't make me happy? Maybe I should stop all this nonsense and go to what really matters.  What really counts.  Go to a simpler life.

To Win A Million

To win a million would be great Out of the work force gate Without it we would survive In the group we could dive Never needing to strive Another day Many have faltered with this great blessing Independent of how they are dressing Little by little it can be wasted Long boat do not need to be basted If we could prepare for the future Others we could help also for the future Now we might succumb to the green eyed creature ©2014 Brady L.B.

Bike Race

I must go faster So that I am the master Of those around me I must let them be. If I slow down I will not get the crown That goes to the best And not the rest. As I look up In hopes that I am not the pup. I notice I have gone And nothing had been done. I have not moved one foot I am feeling kaput. How can it be That I could not see. I am not the winner And I will not be back for dinner. What went wrong Did I not sing the winner's song. All is lost in the race, On this fixed base. I must go now And give a bow. ©2014 Brady L.B.

* Continued * Tim continued to watch the concentration camp.  He got his first glimpse of the Citizen Eaters and they were as horrible as their description.  Tim noticed that they followed a certain pattern as they patrolled the area.  They left large gaps in their search and they left the back of the complex mostly unguarded.  Over the years the Citizen Eaters must have gotten tiered of patrolling areas that they thought were never going to have someone there. Tim decided that he would get closer to the back of the compound that night.  He looked through his supplies to see if anything would help him in his mission.  In the bottom of his back he found some bolt cutters.  He figured that he could use the bolt cutter to get through the back fence and get the prisoners out during the cover of night. He spent the rest of the day resting so that he would have the energy to sneak around that night.  That night the moon was a haunting red.  Tim used the moon light and the light com

When Gold Means Nothing

Food, food where is all the food? I ripped open all the cabinets that I could find.  There was nothing in them but dust.  I ripped open the last box with a lock on it.  Nothing!  A rat had gotten to its contents before I got here.  The box had torn up paper and plastic with rat droppings mixed in. This was worthless; I had wasted a lot of time and energy to come up empty handed. Food, food where is all the food? I walked towards the door, out of the corner of my eye I saw something glitter.  I went towards it to find out what it could be.  It could be a bottle of some food or drink.  My heart was racing with anticipation of finding something to eat.  It was a gold coin, how disappointing.  I decided to take it with me just in case I find a use for it later. You may wonder why I was disappointed about finding gold.  The truth is that gold is not worth a lot now days. I left the deserted house to wander the empty streets to find my next meal.  I bent down to grab some dry gr

Perception

It is amazing that we are influenced by the input we get from others.  For example the other day someone was telling me about the length of an item.  I thought he was talking about a different item.  When I went to measure the item I was thinking about I came up with length that I was told.  I went to measure the item again a few days later and it was two feet longer then my previous notes of how long it was.  The item did not grow in that time, I just perceived it was shorter based on previous data I have gotten.

* Continued * Traveling to the east was slow going.  The paths were rocky and terrain changed in elevation often.  While Tim traveled he thought about his family that he was giving up.  The rocks that were forming in his stomach where harder to traverse then the rock that battered his feet.  Several days later, Tim was almost out of supplies and wanted to turn around to correct his mistake of not going after his family.  He knew that he could not make the journey back with the supplies that he had left.  The only hope he had is to continue forward until he could find more supplies. That night he could see a glimmer of light coming from something several miles in front of him.  The thoughts of a town being in front of him raced through his mind and excited him.  He was too tired to continue that night, so he set up camp and sleep. The next morning Tim got up early and started in the direction of the light that he saw the night before.  Those few mile towards the light did not s

Wallet

There you are in my pocket My blessed wallet. So much time We have spent in the climb. To the places we have gone And thing we have done. Money have come and gone In the night or in the sun. * Continued * Tim did not want to be around when the Citizen Eaters showed up, but he knew that if he did not have any supplies he would not get very far from the town.  He knew that he would have to give into Rupert's demand of staying until the end of the day. "I guess I will have to stay.  I will need your help to catch up with my family.  Do you know about how far I will have to go to find them?"  Tim inquired to mislead Rupert. "I do not know how far your journey will be or if you will even make it.  The thing that matters right now is that we need to get to the restaurant.  Now, let's get going," Rupert indicated. Rupert's restaurant was not far from the house.  They arrived at their destination within a few minutes of leaving the house.  The restaurant was nothing flashy.  It was a small building that did not look much different than the houses around it.  Inside there were a few tables set up for customers and small kitchen in the back

"Where will you be going?  Are you going after your family or are you going to try and hide from all this?" asked Rupert.  Rupert was trying not to show his feeling to the young penguin.  He was shocked that Tim had been so rude about the place that he called home, but he realized that Tim had gone through a shock and would probably lash out at those who had not hurt him. Tim was taken back by what Rupert had said.  Did he know what he was planning or was he just taking a wild guess?  Tim replied, "Does it matter where I am going?  I am just not going to stay here." "It does matter.  If you are going after your

"Come on now," indicated Rupert. Rupert did not take a step in the room.  Rupert felt a twinge of fear that he might have to enter the room to wake up Tim.  Rupert banged on the wall in an attempt to wake up the sleeping penguin.  The little penguin moved a little more lively then he had done so far. "I have cooked fresh fish for breakfast and I have to go work soon.  You cannot stay in my house while I am gone.  I am sorry for what happened to your family, but I can't trust you yet to be alone in my house," sternly Rupert communicated. "Can I have a few more minutes?" inquired Tim.  He was fully awake after Rupert banged on the wall.  He did not want to get up.  He felt hopelessness throughout his whole body.  He thought that if he got out of bed that they

If You Want

If you want To go and flaunt Think of those Who will not dose. Some will go and some will stay So many are delayed. If you stand out Others may shout. So make sure it is worth The time you spend in someone's girth. If it is they will be glad To know that you are not bad. If you stay silent They will not become violent. They may stand out While you pout. You may learn Or you may burn For that time That you should chime. Times will come and go Just as the wind blows It is up to you How you may come unglued In the end you should do what is right Whether it is in or out of sight. ©2014 Brady L.B.

Silent Love

Sitting so still, I am trying not to be a pill. I hope to see the gaze From the one I want praise. If only I can catch their glance I might have a chance To find that happiness Instead of sadness. I just need to be silent, To make a dent In their ever caring stare Without it I can't bear. Why will they not look I am just a open book. Do they not care How I fair. This is not fair for them not to care. I just need them now So I don't feel like a cow. I am just an animal to them From it I shall stem. If to them that is all that I am Can't I be their lamb. I would come up So I could be like a pup. They could touch me soft So I would not be so aloft. I just want them to care So it can be fair. Why don't they look I am an open book. ©2014 Brady L.B.
